Once we receive a signed Hose Testing Agreement, we will schedule an onsite
test date for the customer and AHTS, Inc. That day, AHTS, Inc. arrives with its staff and hose testing equipment,
ready to test. The engines are digital imaged as to how that engine is loaded. All fire hose
is removed, layed out pressure tested, reloaded and recorded onto a notebook PC. A hose test report is mailed to
the customer within 2 weeks. A CD is also provided with the certified report. The CD may be uploaded into your existing inventory
database program. Our company will do the entire job with our personnel
and equipment! Here is a step-by-step approach to how it is done.
Diagram * Unload Engine * Inspect Hose
|
Every fire department loads their engines in a unique way. Some fire departments
have all different loads on each engine. AHTS will input how every engine is loaded, specifically how many feet
are in each bed, how the lays are loaded and the location of any other hose on the engine.
All the fire engine hoses are unloaded. The pre-connects, hose bundles and rolls are removed
and setup for pressure testing. Each hose is hand inspected for any defects and sorted based on test
pressures required by the NFPA Standards.
Hose Identification * Pressure test * Roll and Reload * Document
|
Every hose must have an identification number and they can vary as much as hose loads between
fire departments. If your department has an inventory system that has already been established within the department,
those numbers are used accordingly. If the department has no numbering system, AHTS, Inc. creates a unique bar code labeling
system that can be reused for testing every year.
Our equipment has been developed
to meet NFPA Standards. The testing equipment has been designed to handle the highest possible pressure of
hose testing (some hose is required to be tested at 400 psi). When we test each hose we'll exceed the required time needed
to hold preesure. Every hose is rolled and inspected before reloading
to prevent any dry rot, air or water for more professional looking loads. Once we reloading the hose,
we review our hose load digital image to make sure that the hose returns the way we originally found
it.
AHTS, will then load all data into our database program, we will report all testing
data and provide your department a CD plus written documentation of all the hose records. You will receive a Gold
Seal Certificate of Testing, printout of Testing Reports and a CD of your fire hose inventory and
testing results. Once AHTS finishes testing your hose, you are in complete compliance with regards
to NFPA 1962 in compliance with Annual Hose Service Testing.
